Door slam analysis

  • Has a fast/sharp attack shown by the sudden spike in waveform which is much louder compared to the rest
  • It takes 13ms to go from almost complete silence to the loudest part of the wave
  • The sound has a fast decay shown in both the spectrogram and the waveform
  • The majority of the sound is comprised of low frequencies
    • The colours are more intense at the bottom of the spectrogram
    • The waves are further apart in the middle of the waveform compared to much closer together showing the background noise before and after
  • It is interesting to see that the initial transient of the slam includes not only low frequencies but almost the entire spectrum which slowly decreases over the course of the sound
